We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Scheduler to join our team based out of the Forrestfield Head Office. This position plays a key role in coordinating the safe, efficient and reliable movement of our drivers and fleet in our Kalgoorlie and Goldfields operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate transport schedule routes for bulk fuel deliveries from terminals to customer sites.
- Allocate drivers, vehicles and loads to meet customer and operational requirements.
- Communicate effectively with drivers throughout the day and provide support when schedules change.
- Liaise with customers regarding deliveries, changes and operational requirements.
- Monitor customer fuel levels and coordinate proactive dispatch.
- Monitor vehicle availability, maintenance requirements and operational constraints.
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and unexpected operational issues.
- Ensure transport activities are undertaken in accordance with company procedures, safety requirements and relevant legislation.
- Maintain accurate scheduling and transport records.
- Support a positive safety culture by ensuring safety is considered in all scheduling and operational decisions.
- Occasional after-hours/on-call availability may be required due to the nature of our regional transport operations and would primarily involve being available by phone to respond to urgent operational issues. This requirement is infrequent and would be managed on a reasonable and rotational basis where practical.
About You:
Essential
- Prior experience in transport scheduling, logistics or fleet coordination, preferably within the fuel or dangerous goods industry.
- Broad knowledge of Western Australia's geographical regions and associated logistical considerations.
- Solid time-management skills and can confidently manage multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with drivers and customers.
- Comfortable making decisions and solving problems when circumstances change.
- Solid understanding of fatigue management and heavy vehicle compliance, or willing to develop this knowledge.
- Confident using transport, scheduling or fleet management systems.
- Proficient in transport management systems (TMS) and route-optimisation software.
- Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management
Desirable
- Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations or similar logistics qualification.
