NTS Transport Engineering is a family-owned semi-trailer manufacturer based in Forrestdale, WA.

We manufacture a wide range of Australian-made transport equipment, including dollies, flat-top extendables, drop decks, skeletal trailers, tippers and plant trailers.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Vehicle Assembly Leading Hand to join and help lead our assembly workshop.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone with strong experience in heavy vehicle or semi-trailer assembly who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. Previous experience in a formal supervisor position is not essential; however, you must have the practical knowledge and confidence to guide other employees, check completed work and ensure each trailer is finished correctly before it leaves the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out hands-on assembly and fit-out of semi-trailers and transport equipment

- Coordinate and oversee work completed within the assembly workshop

- Install and connect air lines, braking systems and suspension components

- Complete trailer electrical wiring and lighting installation

- Read and work from drawings, specifications and job requirements

- Inspect completed work and identify issues before final sign-off

- Ensure all assembly work meets NTS quality and safety standards

- Guide less-experienced employees and ensure work is completed correctly

- Report faults, missing components or concerns promptly





- Help maintain an organised, productive and accountable workshop

To Be Successful, You Must Have

- Solid experience in heavy vehicle, truck or semi-trailer assembly

- Sound knowledge of air systems, braking systems and suspension components

- Experience with trailer electrical wiring and lighting

- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality control

- The confidence to check the work of others and address issues

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team

- A current forklift licence

- A reliable attitude and strong work ethic

Formal supervisory experience is not essential. We are primarily looking for someone with extensive industry experience who is ready to take responsibility for the quality and completion of work within the assembly workshop.

Hours and Pay

- Full-time permanent position

- $60 per hour flat rate

- Normal hours are 7:25 am to 4:00 pm

- Regular overtime is available

- Approximately 52–56 hours per week may be available

- Immediate start
