This is a unique opportunity to help establish a new service making a real difference to the lives of people in need. Foodbank SA & NT has an opportunity for a permanent, full time Food Hub Coordinator to lead our new Darwin Mobile Food Hub, help shape how the service operates, connect with communities and support people experiencing food insecurity.

- Based in Yarrawonga and supporting people in need in across Darwin Metro and Greater Darwin Region

About the Role

Foodbank SA & NT is seeking a suitably experienced and enthusiastic Food Hub Coordinator to lead our Mobile Food Hub across Darwin. Working with Foodbank colleagues, volunteers and local partners, you will help turn this current initiative into a trusted, welcoming and well-run service.

The Mobile Food Hub is a customised ute and trailer that travels to areas identified as being of great need with limited service or access to food relief. You will combine leadership, customer service and practical coordination to ensure the Mobile Food Hub is safe, well organised and ready to respond to local needs. Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering respectful, high-quality customer service that is sensitive to social and cultural needs

- Inducting, training, supporting and coordinating a team of volunteers

- Managing inventory, including pricing, stock control, ordering and stocktakes

- Maintaining a safe,



welcoming and professionally presented Mobile Food Hub

- Building constructive relationships with local communities, service partners and internal teams

- Completing daily administration accurately and on time

- Identifying opportunities to improve the service as it grows.

Rostered hours are Monday to Friday from 7.00am to 3.00pm.

About You

You are an enthusiastic, practical and community-minded leader who enjoys turning plans into action. Comfortable in a new and evolving environment, you can create structure, solve problems and bring people with you. You will combine strong communication, organisation and time-management skills with empathy, sound judgement and a respectful approach to working with people from diverse backgrounds.

To succeed in this role, you will:

- Be committed to community service and the not-for-profit sector

- Enjoy leading and supporting a diverse, friendly team

- Be confident managing competing priorities in a busy, hands-on environment

- Hold a current C Class driver’s licence (MR is beneficial but not mandatory)

- Hold a current National Police Clearance and First Aid Certificate

Previous experience in a similar coordination, retail, logistics,



community service or volunteer leadership role will be highly regarded.

Our vision is to end hunger in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Our mission is to get the most good food, to the most people, in the most efficient way possible.

Foodbank SA & NT has 13 Food Hubs and provides food relief to over 150,000 people every month. One third of these are children. We source food from wholesalers, manufacturers, supermarkets and growers, saving more than 2.5 million kilograms of food from landfill each year. In the last 12 months, we have sourced enough food to put more than 10 million meals on the table of those doing it tough in our community.
