We are seeking an experienced welder to operate our state-of-the-art mobile hardbanding unit at our Roma yard. The primary responsibility is to hardband in-house and third-party tubulars, managing each job from start to finish both in the yard and at client sites. A high regard for safety is essential.

About the role

The role will include, but is not limited to:
Apply Hardbanding to BHA and drill pipe in line with OEM procedure
Set up and operate the Hardband unit, including plasma removal of damaged Hardband
Preventive maintenance
Carry out post-Hardband inspection and get accurate reports in on time
Coordinate third-party jobs with clients and crew




Train and mentor junior team members
Maintain consumable stock levels and assist with general yard operations.

About the Candidate:

The successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:
Welding or experience in a similar role would be advantageous
QLD Forklift ticket
Manual Driver's licence C Class
Ability to follow transparent instructions with high attention to detail
Good communication and computer skills
Valuable mechanical aptitude would be advantageous.
Ability to safely use and operate hand and power tools.
Reliable, with a strong work ethic and work well in a team setting.
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.
