Middle Park Bowls Club is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Venue Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our busy and growing members' club. The role combines the traditional responsibilities of running a community bowls club with a solid focus on functions and events, customer service, venue performance and member / visitor experience.
Key responsibilities
Managing function and event enquiries from initial contact through to delivery
Driving function bookings and venue revenue
Recruiting, rostering and managing staff, including casual staff for the busy function season
Providing a welcoming and qualified experience for members, visiting bowlers, guests and function customers
Working behind the bar and assisting with service as required as part of the day-to-day operation of the Club
Ensuring a high standard of customer service and venue presentation
Coordinating catering, beverages, bowls and event requirements
Managing the Club's social media presence and local marketing
Managing suppliers, contractors and operational compliance
Working with the Board on ongoing improvements and growth prospects
About you
Venue, hospitality or functions management experience
Strong organisational and customer service skills
Confidence with social media
Ability to lead and build a reliable team
Experience in a bowls or sporting club is an advantage, but bowls knowledge is not essential
