A well-know law firm in Melbourne's CBD are seeking a highly experienced Legal Assistant to support the Principal – Family Law to commence as soon as possible in this initial temp role until early 2027, with view to extend/or permanency. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Assistant to step into a fast-paced, high-powered environment and provide crucial support to a senior leader.

About the Role:

You will be the right hand to the Principal – Family Law, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. This role demands a high level of organisation, efficiency, and resilience to keep up with a fast-moving and demanding workplace.

Your key responsibilities will include:

High-level calendar management – scheduling meetings, mediations, and court hearings
Client liaison – communicating with clients in a professional manner
Legal practice management system (Affinity) – opening files, saving documents/emails
Dictation and transcription
E-briefs and disclosure management
Billing and invoicing
Ensuring smooth workflow and managing competing priorities

This role requires someone who is extremely organised, proactive,



and resilient, with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you must have:
Experience supporting senior leaders in a fast-paced legal environment
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
Thick-skinned, confident, and able to work under high pressure
Experience using Affinity or similar legal practice management systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
