About the role
This is a hands-on senior engineering role working across both Kinetic Engineering Services and Kinetic Manufacturing, delivering a diverse range of projects from day-to-day manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives through to significant machinery, capital equipment and automation projects. The successful candidate will also provide technical leadership and supervision to our existing engineers, with a transparent opportunity to develop into a broader engineering management role as our engineering team grows across the Kinetic Group.
Key responsibilities
Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept and design through to manufacture, installation and commissioning.
Deliver manufacturing improvement, machinery, automation and capital equipment projects.
Develop practical mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing safety, productivity, quality and reliability.
Work closely with production teams, tradespeople, suppliers and specialist automation providers.
Provide day-to-day technical supervision, design review and mentoring to existing engineers.
Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, suppliers and contractors.
Support machinery risk assessments, engineering reviews and compliance with applicable standards.
Help develop engineering standards, systems and capability across the Kinetic businesses.
About you
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
CPEng, NER, Victorian Professional Engineer registration required.
Significant mechanical engineering experience, preferably within manufacturing, machinery or industrial settings.
Experience leading engineering projects from concept through to implementation.
Experience supervising, mentoring or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
Solid mechanical design and CAD capability.
Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery safety.
Experience with automation, robotics or special-purpose machinery would be highly regarded.
