Kuremara Care is a registered NDIS provider supporting people with disability to live safely and independently in their homes and communities. We provide person-centred support, including Supported Independent Living (SIL) and high-intensity daily personal activities.
The Role
We're looking for a Registered Nurse with hands-on experience in Vacuum Assisted Closure (VAC) / Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) to provide complex wound care for an NDIS participant. You'll deliver clinical care, work with the participant's treating team, and help our support workers keep care consistent between your visits.
Key Responsibilities
Apply, monitor and change VAC/NPWT dressings, including troubleshooting the device
Assess and document wound progress, and escalate concerns to the treating GP or specialist
Develop and review the participant's wound care and high-intensity support plans
Train and supervise support workers in wound care tasks within their scope
Keep accurate, timely clinical notes in line with NDIS Practice Standards
Identify and report risks and incidents in line with Kuremara's policies
Essential Requirements
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
Demonstrated experience with VAC/NPWT systems (e.g. 3M V.A.C., PICO, Renasys)
Experience in complex wound assessment and management
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one)
Current First Aid and CPR
Current driver's licence and reliable, insured vehicle
NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete it)
Desirable
Community, home-based or disability sector nursing experience
Postgraduate wound care qualification
COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations
