Hays is partnering with a well-established organisation seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Officer to join their team. This role offers an immediate start and the potential for ongoing employment for the right candidate.
Working across two sites, you will play a key role in ensuring buildings, grounds and facilities are maintained to a secure, functional and high standard.
Your new role
As a Maintenance Officer, you will undertake a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across buildings and grounds. This is a diverse, hands-on role suited to someone with a strong maintenance background and a practical approach to problem-solving.
Key responsibilities include:
General building maintenance and repairs
Routine property inspections and preventative maintenance
Minor carpentry, painting and patching work
General grounds and outdoor area maintenance
Identifying and reporting maintenance issues
Coordinating and assisting contractors on-site when required
Basic plumbing and handyman-related tasks
Ensuring all facilities remain safe, clean and operational
Maintaining tools, equipment and maintenance records
Adhering to workplace health and safety procedures
What you'll need to succeed:
Previous experience in a Maintenance Officer, Handyman or Facilities Maintenance role
Trade qualification or trade background highly regarded
Robust practical maintenance and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work autonomously and manage workloads effectively
Commitment to workplace health and safety
Current Australian Driver's Licence
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or ability to obtain one
Reliable, professional and customer-focused approach
