About the role To provide high-quality chairside support to clinicians and deliver warm, productive front-desk service, ensuring every patient has a protected, positive experience from first call to follow-up.
Key responsibilities
Provide four-handed chairside assistance across general, orthodontic and periodontal procedures
Prepare and turn over surgeries; set up instruments, materials and trays
Reprocess instruments in line with AS 5369:2023 and ADA Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines; maintain steriliser logs and batch tracking
Take and record radiographs where licensed; assist with scans, impressions and photos
Maintain accurate clinical notes and charting as directed
Monitor stock levels and expiry dates; assist with ordering and stock audits
Support perio surgery set-up and ortho appointments (bonding, adjustments, debonds)
Greet patients and manage the reception area professionally
Manage appointment book to maximise productivity and minimise gaps
Answer calls,
emails and SMS enquiries promptly
About you
Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or willingness to complete as trainee)
Sound knowledge of infection control procedures
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Robust organisation and multitasking ability
Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and vaccinations per Victorian health requirements (incl. Hepatitis B)
Current First Aid / CPR
Certificate IV in Dental Assisting (Radiography / Dental Practice Administration) – desirable
Experience with Dolphin, Dental4Windows, Core Practice or similar software – desirable
HICAPS and health fund knowledge – desirable
