We’re on the hunt for a talented Chef / Cook to join our busy country Motel & Tavern in Capella, Central Queensland. If you love outstanding food, fast service, and a kitchen that actually feels like a team — you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
Cook a wide range of dishes with consistency, flavour and flair
Inspect and quality‑check all incoming food deliveries
Master the ovens, grills, fryers and equipment like a true kitchen pro
Plate meals with precision and presentation pride
Check and maintain food quality, storage and safety standards
Run equipment temps and keep the kitchen humming
Adapt meals for dietary needs
Season, taste, adjust and perfect every plate
Help with menu planning,
recipe development and forecasting
Support the Head chef and other cooks / chefs
Report to the Head Chef and keep communication flowing
What You’ll Do
Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef / Cook
Cert III in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
Current Food Safety Certificates
Strong organisation, time management and multi‑tasking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork
Ability to work night shifts
