Little Athletics Queensland - Brisbane QLD

Development Officers play a critical role in the ongoing success of Little Athletics in Queensland. The primary remit is to increase the number of participants in the sport through coordination of programs to attract recent participants, while providing a quality experience to those already participating.

Alongside other members of the Development team, the Development Officer will organise and deliver programs within schools, clubs and the community to meet the needs of athletes, students, coaches and officials.

The role requires a self-driven focus on achieving success and the ability to communicate effectively with adults and children. There is a explicit focus to grow participation which requires perseverance and enthusiasm, and in return reap the rewards of seeing thousands of children having fun and being their best.

The role requires a mixture of office and field work as well as regular travel by road.

We are seeking people with:




Knowledge of athletics and particularly Little Athletics
Robust communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents and children
Excellent program planning and delivery skills
Excellent decision making and organisation
Good energy and an enjoyment for coaching
High level of customer focus
Ability to lead and work effectively with others as part of a team
Willingness to work effectively in a flexible environment and keep to tight timelines

Essential requirements
Working with Children and Working with Vulnerable People check
Drivers licence

Desirable criteria
Sports Management or Business degree
Level 1 Coaching Accreditation
First Aid certificate
Current Provide and Perform CPR certificate
