Position overview
We are recruiting two Construction Waterproofing Apprentices based in the Toowoomba region. The apprenticeship provides the prospect to develop skills and knowledge through on-the-job experience and training with an employer while completing a nationally recognised course through a registered training organisation.
Duties and responsibilities
Apply caulking and sealants to joints and gaps in structures using specialised equipment
Lay membranes and spray or brush on protective coatings to surfaces to prevent moisture penetration
Inspect and repair existing waterproofing systems
Measure and cut waterproofing materials to fit specific areas
Essential criteria
Willingness to develop skills and knowledge
Ability to listen, follow instructions and ask for assistance when required
Punctuality, interest and adherence to workplace policies and procedures
Ability to act responsibly and safely in the workplace
Ability to develop effective working relationships with workplace colleagues and Golden West Apprenticeships team members
Ability to complete timesheets correctly and on time
Desirable criteria
Work experience in the industry or Certificate II in Construction
Driver licence or close to obtaining one
Reliable transport to get to site daily
Position requirements
Abide by the terms and conditions of the training contract
Complete Golden West Apprenticeships inductions
Perform work in a satisfactory manner
Commit to and complete the training plan within the allocated timeframe by completing theory assessments and demonstrating skills through competency assessments
Comply with registration relevant to the field of work, including the Further Education and Training Act and the Work Health and Safety Act
