ANZUK Education is partnering exclusively with the Australian International School Hong Kong (AISHK) to appoint a highly skilled and compassionate Lead School Psychologist (R-12). This is a unique opportunity to join one of Hong Kong's most respected international schools and play a pivotal role in supporting the wellbeing, learning and safeguarding of more than 1,100 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
About the School
Located in Kowloon Tong, AISHK is the only school in Hong Kong offering the Australian Curriculum throughout the primary and middle years, alongside both the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in the senior years. The Opportunity
The Lead School Psychologist will provide specialist psychological expertise across the school, supporting students with complex learning, behavioural, social, emotional and mental health needs. The position is a key leadership role within the wellbeing team and serves as the school's lead adviser on psychological wellbeing, safeguarding and complex case management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychological leadership and oversight of student wellbeing services across K-12.
- Support students presenting with complex mental health, behavioural and learning needs.
- Lead risk assessments, safeguarding processes and crisis response initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with families, teachers, counsellors, school leaders and external specialists.
- Interpret psychological assessments and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Facilitate professional learning and coaching for staff.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary case management and referrals.
- Contribute to whole‑school wellbeing frameworks, preventative programs and early intervention initiatives.
- Maintain strong relationships with child protection agencies, psychologists, psychiatrists and allied health professionals.
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
- Full psychologist registration with a minimum of three years' supervised qualified experience working with children and young people.
- Demonstrated experience providing psychological services within a school setting.
- Strong expertise in child and adolescent mental health, safeguarding and risk assessment.
- Experience supporting students with anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, behavioural challenges and complex wellbeing needs.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including CBT and related interventions.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building and consultation skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment whilst exercising strong professional judgement and confidentiality.
