As a Public Health Officer, you will be responsible for assessing, monitoring and responding to public and environmental health matters across the Shire. Working within relevant legislation, local laws, policies and delegated authority, you will undertake a diverse portfolio of regulatory and public health functions. - Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health)



or equivalent qualification approved under the Public Health Act 2016 and eligible for appointment by the Executive Director Public Health as an Authorised Officer.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of public and environmental health legislation, codes, standards and local government regulatory responsibilities, including the ability to interpret legislative requirements and provide sound technical advice
- Demonstrated experience in assessing applications, undertaking inspections, investigations and compliance activities, including the ability to identify, assess and manage public and environmental health risks using sound professional judgement
- Well-developed communication, customer service and organisational skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and correspondence, manage competing priorities, and work effectively both independently and as part of a small team
