We are seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join our Procurement & Logistics team, based at our Head Office in Perth CBD. Reporting to the Executive General Manager - Group Procurement, this role will be responsible for delivering end-to-end sourcing, procurement and inventory management activities across NRW's mining, civil and drill & blast operations.
Working across domestic and international supply networks, you will play a key role in securing critical consumables, components, spare parts, equipment and services while delivering cost savings, supplier performance improvements and continuity of supply.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or supply chain management within an operational or asset-intensive environment
- Strong spoken and written communication skills in Mandarin and English, with experience engaging directly with Chinese manufacturers
- Demonstrated commercial negotiation and influencing skills, including pricing, commercial terms and supplier agreements
- Proven ability to identify and deliver measurable cost savings and commercial improvements
- Experience managing supplier relationships and performance across quality, delivery, responsiveness and continuous improvement
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills
- Full Australian working rights
- Relevant tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain management, engineering, commerce, business or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the sourcing and procurement of mining consumables, drill and blast products, mobile plant components, wear parts, critical spares, equipment and operational services
- Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with local and international suppliers,
including manufacturers in China
- Managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including demand planning, supplier identification, market engagement, quotations, commercial evaluation, negotiation, purchase orders, expediting and delivery monitoring
- Negotiating pricing, commercial terms, lead times, inventory arrangements and supply agreements to deliver sustainable cost savings
- Developing sourcing strategies that optimise total cost of ownership, minimise supply risk and improve continuity of supply
- Reviewing technical drawings, engineering specifications, maintenance requirements and scope documentation and communicating requirements to suppliers
- Identifying alternative sourcing opportunities and implementing supply chain improvements
- Collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance and Site Leadership to align sourcing and inventory activities with operational requirements
- Managing supplier performance across safety, quality, delivery, responsiveness and continuous improvement
- Monitoring stock levels, consumption trends, demand forecasts and supplier lead times to maintain availability of critical operational materials
- Supporting accurate inventory valuation, purchasing records, cost allocation, budgeting and financial controls
- Preparing and presenting procurement, inventory and supplier performance reports, including savings,
efficiencies, risks and commercial improvements
