The Organisation:
Join a well-respected government department committed to creating safe and positive outcomes for its customers. You will support the Financial Accounting team to deliver accurate financial reporting and meet key deadlines. This is an initial six-month contract, with the possibility of extension.

The Position:
This role will require you to take ownership of month-end activities and provide expert financial accounting support. You will be responsible for:

- Providing advice on financial accounting issues, policies, guidelines, methodologies and systems
- Supporting end-of-month accounting processes, including journals, bank reconciliations and accruals
- Accounting for the acquisition and disposal of fixed assets
- Assisting with a data migration project when required

Your Profile:
This role will be an ideal prospect if:

- You have strong technical financial accounting skills and can provide advice on complex accounting matters
- You have strong Excel skills and are confident working with large volumes of data
- You demonstrate excellent attention to detail
- You have experience working within large, complex organisations
- You have ERP systems experience, preferably SAP
- You hold CPA/CA qualifications, although these are advantageous rather than essential
