About the Position
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Medical Officer to join our supportive healthcare team in Kununurra, Western Australia. This role is essential in providing comprehensive primary healthcare at our private GP clinic, with a focus on culturally safe, patient centred care.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment,
and management of various health conditions inclusive to developing individualised chronic condition care plans and various health assessments
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director in participating in Continuous Quality Improvements, Workforce development and learning, and the strategic alignment of the Wunan Health Framework
- Engage with the local community to promote health education and preventive care initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor GP Registrars and medical students as required.

Qualifications
- 3 years post fellowship as a General Practitioner
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Understanding of Aboriginal health and culturally safe practice in cross-cultural settings
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, teamwork, strategic and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement.
- Experience in rural or remote healthcare settings is advantageous
