People and Culture Officer - 12 month parental leave position

Part time (22 hours per week), Fixed term (12 months)

Salary commencing at $40.23 per hour (plus superannuation)

As our People and Culture Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the employee experience across Hindmarsh Shire Council, contributing to recruitment, onboarding, staff development, HR processes and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a varied and rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, providing practical support, and helping create a workplace where employees feel informed, valued and supported.

We are looking for someone with strong communication and administrative skills, excellent attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. If you enjoy working collaboratively, building positive relationships and delivering quality support in a values-driven environment, we would love to hear from you.

Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.

Well-developed skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning and organising one’s own work.

Experience in providing high level administrative support in the areas of human resources, employee experience or another similar field.

Understanding of the relevant technology, procedures, practices, regulations, policies and processes used within a Human Resources environment.





Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical, police check and Working with Children Check.
