Senior Accountant CA/CPA – Retirement Living

About us

Renaissance Retirement Living is a retirement village community at Victoria Point, QLD. We're proud of the vibrant, resort-style lifestyle we create for our residents, and of the close-knit team that makes it happen. We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage the finance department and keep the business’s finances running smoothly and accurately, working four days per week from the head office in Cleveland.

About the role

Reporting to Operations Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day financial management of the village and give the leadership team the insight they need to make sound decisions. It's a hands-on role with genuine variety, suited to someone who enjoys being close to the business rather than one of many in a large finance team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including management accounts and board reporting

Managing month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations and audit preparation

Preparing budgets and forecasts, and analysing performance against them





Overseeing village operating budgets and the financial obligations under the Retirement Villages Act 1999 (Qld), including capital replacement and maintenance reserve funds

Managing resident-related financials such as ingoing contributions, exit entitlements and general services charges

Handling BAS, GST, FBT and payroll tax compliance, and liaising with external accountants and auditors

Reviewing and improving financial systems, controls and processes

Supporting management with cash flow planning, pricing and project analysis

About you

CA or CPA qualified (or well advanced towards it)

At least 10 years' accounting experience, ideally including a senior or lead role

Experience in retirement living, aged care, property or a similar regulated sector is highly regarded

Solid knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirements

Confident with MYOB and advanced Excel skills

A clear communicator who can explain financial information to non-finance colleagues

Organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing competing deadlines
