About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join this growing public practice team. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of clients, deliver high-quality accounting and tax services, and work closely with senior management and partners to provide value-added advice.
You will gain exposure to a broad range of entity structures and industries, while also playing a key role in mentoring junior staff and helping clients achieve their business and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and service a portfolio of business and individual clients
- Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, BAS and IAS for a range of entity structures, including companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and superannuation funds
- Provide tax planning, structuring and business advisory services
- Liaise directly with clients and build robust, long-term relationships
- Review client structures and assist with the preparation of taxation advice
- Monitor KPIs and provide insights to support clients' business growth and strategic goals
- Assist with workflow management and mentor graduate and junior accountants
- Work closely with Principals and Managers on client engagements and projects
- Ensure compliance with Australian taxation and regulatory requirements
About You
- 3+ years' experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm
- CA or CPA qualification, or currently working towards completion
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients and developing strong client relationships
- Ability to mentor and support junior/intermediate staff
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
- Self-driven, confident and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar
- A genuine passion for helping clients grow and developing a long-term career in public practice
