Lazard Australia is seeking to recruit an experienced Associate (3-plus years of direct investment banking experience) to join our Melbourne or Sydney office.
Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day support of transaction and marketing efforts and conducting company and industry analysis on new transaction opportunities.
The candidate will:
Research, analyse, sensitise and adapt both internal and client-facing financial and statistical analysis/models;
Be responsible for assisting in the preparation and production of presentations and marketing materials for clients and prospective clients, in consultation with other team members;
Work closely with senior corporate advisers, assisting them with various reports and analyses;
Handle execution and process matters flawlessly, assisting in due diligence efforts as appropriate, understand client objectives and recommend potential solutions;
Provide mentoring and supervision for analysts.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have outstanding academic graduate or post-graduate results and will have significant M&A; experience (3-plus years)
within an investment bank or corporate advisory firm.
Demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills with an ability to build financial models with ease;
Robust understanding of the accounting principles that underlie typical financial analyses used in corporate advisory (particularly valuations);
Self-motivated, with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests in a high pressure environment;
Ability to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong team skills;
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to maintain relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to work to tight deadlines;
Strong appreciation of global capital markets and cross-border M&A; activities
Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct, adhere to legal and regulatory requirements of the investment banking setting, and follow Lazard Australia's policies and procedures.
