Are you an experienced HR Driver looking for a hands-on driving opportunity in Rockhampton?

We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Medical Waste Driver to join a busy healthcare waste operation. This is a 3-month assignment with potential to extend for the right candidate.

What's on Offer

- $39.89 per hour + penalties
- Monday to Friday
- Occasional weekend and public holiday work
- Variable start times between 12:00am and 5:00pm
- Typical shifts of 8–12 hours
- Overtime and applicable allowances paid in accordance with the Waste Management Award
- Rockhampton-based
- 3-month assignment with potential to extend

About the Role

This is a physically active driving role involving the safe collection, transport and delivery of medical waste bins to healthcare facilities and collection points.

Key responsibilities include:

- Safely delivering medical waste bins along allocated routes
- Loading and unloading medical waste bins from the vehicle
- Regularly lifting and moving bins weighing up to 30kg
- Completing collections and deliveries safely and within scheduled timeframes
- Providing professional customer service at healthcare facilities
- Following all workplace health and safety procedures




- Communicating with dispatch and supervisors regarding deliveries, delays or issues
- Completing vehicle and safety checks as required
- Maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism

About You

To be successful, you will have:

- Current HR Licence – automatic licence accepted
- Previous delivery driving experience is advantageous
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Solid commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 30kg
- Physical capability to undertake regular lifting, bending and standing
- Flexibility to work varying start times, weekends and public holidays when required
- Understanding that this is a hands-on role and not simply point-to-point driving
- Forklift licence advantageous but not essential

Pre-Employment Requirements

Successful applicants will be required to complete relevant pre-employment and site requirements, including:

- Workplace health and safety requirements
- National Police Check
- Drug and alcohol screening
- Hepatitis A & B vaccination requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination preferred
