12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Multi-Property Hotel Portfolio | Based in Melbourne CBD
Lead People & Culture across four iconic Victorian hotels.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced HR Professional to join ERDI Group on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting a diverse portfolio of four hotels across Melbourne and Geelong.
This is a true generalist leadership role offering breadth, autonomy and influence. Working closely with our General Managers, Executive Leadership Teams and Heads of Department, you will lead the People & Culture function across the hotel portfolio and support a workforce of more than 500 employees.
Operating within a fast-paced hospitality environment, no two days will look the same. You’ll move between strategic priorities and hands-on operational matters, providing trusted advice to leaders while continuing to strengthen our people practices, culture and employee experience across the Group.
The Opportunity
As Group People & Culture Manager, you will have responsibility for the end-to-end P&C; function across the portfolio, partnering closely with hotel leadership to deliver practical, commercially focused and people-centered outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include:.
- Partner with General Managers and senior leaders on workforce planning, organisational structure, employee engagement and broader people priorities.
- Provide advice and guidance across employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, grievances and workplace investigations.
- Support leaders with the interpretation and application of Modern Awards (HIGA), the National Employment Standards and relevant employment legislation.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, talent management and workforce planning across the portfolio.
- Drive employee engagement, recognition, wellbeing and culture initiatives.
- Lead learning, development, leadership capability and succession planning initiatives.
- Support workplace health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, including WorkCover, Return to Work and psychosocial safety.
- Oversee HR compliance, employment documentation, HR systems and workforce reporting.
- Support remuneration reviews, employment contracts, variations and organisational changes.
- Use people data and workforce insights to identify trends and support business decision-making.
- Continue to strengthen and standardise P&C; processes, policies and practices across the hotel portfolio.
About you
You are an experienced and commercially minded People & Culture professional who can confidently move between strategic partnering and hands-on operational HR.
You are equally comfortable coaching leadership through a complex employee relations matter, managing a workplace issue, developing future leaders or walking the hotel floor and connecting with our teams.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a broad HR/P&C; generalist role, ideally within a multi-site or operational environment.
- Exposure to the development and delivery of people strategies and organisational initiatives.
- The confidence to influence, challenge constructively and lead change while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent organisational capability and exceptional attention to detail.
- Previous experience within hotels, hospitality, tourism, retail or another fast-paced multi-site environment will be highly regarded.
- A privately owned company that operates a successful collection of hotels and businesses throughout Australia.
- Opportunity to be part of both Erdi– one of Australia's largest privately and independently owned Hotel groups and Accor, a leading global hospitality company.
- Exceptionally generous accommodation discounts for you and your family and friends.
- A group with a strong focus on its people, while working within hotel environments connected to globally recognised hospitality brands.
You can expect:
- A broad and influential Group-level P&C; leadership role.
- Exposure across four hotels and a workforce of 500+ employees.
- Direct partnership with General Managers and senior leadership.
- Genuine ownership of P&C; initiatives and priorities.
- A diverse role spanning operational HR, employee relations, culture, engagement, development and strategy.
- The opportunity to continue building and evolving established P&C; initiatives across the Group.
- A collaborative hotel workplace where People & Culture is an active partner to the business.
If you’re an experienced People & Culture professional who enjoys being close to the operation, building trusted relationships and making things happen, we’d love to hear from you.
