An established building surveying consultancy is seeking a registered Building Inspector to conduct mandatory inspections across Melbourne’s northern suburbs. Most inspections will involve single dwellings, with opportunities to inspect projects such as restaurants and warehouses for candidates holding the appropriate registration.
Duties
- Conduct mandatory inspections at key stages of construction
- Inspect work against approved plans, permits and relevant requirements
- Complete clear and accurate inspection reports
- Identify non-compliant work and advise builders on required rectification
- Carry out reinspections where required
- Liaise professionally with builders, owners and internal surveyors
- Undertake residential, commercial and industrial inspections within your registration scope
About You
- Registered Building Inspector – Limited or Unlimited in Victoria
- Previous mandatory building inspection experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of the NCC and Victorian building regulations
- Confident inspecting single dwellings independently
- Commercial or industrial inspection experience is advantageous but not essential
- Transparent written and verbal communication skills
- Current driver’s licence and the ability to travel throughout the northern suburbs
