This is a practical design role combining warehouse layout, technical drafting and project support. You'll work with sales and project teams to turn customer requirements, site information and architectural plans into explicit, accurate and workable storage solutions. You will be responsible for developing storage layouts and technical drawings for projects ranging from straightforward pallet racking installations through to larger and more complex warehouse fit-outs.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing pallet racking and warehouse storage layouts
- Producing accurate 2D CAD drawings and plans
- Working from site measurements, architectural drawings and customer requirements
- Developing practical layouts that consider access, clearances, forklift operation and available warehouse space
- Preparing quantities and information to support estimating and quoting
- Working closely with sales, project management, installation and engineering teams
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and drawing revisions
- Assisting with technical queries during quoting, manufacture and installation
About you
- Good spatial and technical problem-solving ability
- The ability to read and interpret plans and technical information
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- An understanding of practical construction and installation constraints
- The ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with salespeople, customers, installers and project teams
- Experience in pallet racking, warehouse storage or materials handling design, or relevant experience in structural steel or fabrication drafting, mechanical or industrial drafting, materials handling or conveyor systems, warehouse or industrial layout design, design estimating, or other technical CAD roles involving manufactured or installed products
