About the role
We’re looking for a registered Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team and put their vocational skills to work for people who’ve served. You’ll work directly with Veterans and their family members to identify their strengths and set career goals. You’ll also give them the practical tools to find and keep work that matters to them.
This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role delivered across the range of programs within Combat to Career. You’ll also occasionally help Veterans apply for aids and appliances and support in other programs deliverables.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing vocational support to Veterans and families, from assessment and goal-setting through to sustainable employment
- One‑on‑one career coaching and ongoing mentoring
- Helping clients translate military skills and experience into civilian language
- CV development and job application support
- Interview preparation and coaching
- Supporting delivery of group programmes and employer events under Combat to Career
- Assisting Veterans with assessments and applications for aids and appliances, as needed
- Working with colleagues across disciplines to deliver coordinated support
- Keeping accurate client notes and contributing to program reporting
About you
- Degree in Occupational Therapy with current, unrestricted AHPRA registration
- Experience in vocational rehabilitation, return to work, employment services or a related area
- Confident building rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds
- Organised, self‑directed and comfortable managing your own caseload
- Current driver's licence
Highly regarded
- Experience working with veterans, DVA, or Defence families
- Understanding of the military‑to‑civilian transition
- Experience with aids and appliances prescription or funding applications
- Lived experience of Defence service, or as a Defence family member
