Paralegal - High-Volume Litigation & Recoveries

Our client is seeking an intelligent and enthusiastic full-time Paralegal to join their Melbourne-based Restructuring, Recoveries & Disputes team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to gain exposure to complex, high-volume matters while working within a collaborative and technology-enabled legal environment.

The role

You will provide accurate and timely support across a busy portfolio of matters, taking responsibility for the progression and management of files. You will be confident dealing with clients, debtors and third parties, highly organised and comfortable working to deadlines.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Drafting notices, demands, pleadings, statements of claim, judgments, writs of possession and correspondence
- E-filing court documents and assisting with court processes
- Managing a large volume of files and ensuring matters progress within required timeframes
- Liaising with clients, debtors, process servers and other third parties
- Taking instructions and negotiating proposals with debtors
- Following up security packets, court documents and other requirements
- Preparing discharge of mortgages and assisting with settlements
- Preparing files for eviction
- Identifying complex or high-risk matters and escalating to Lawyers where required




- Providing general administrative support across the team.

About you

You will ideally have previous Paralegal experience within litigation, recoveries, disputes, debt recovery or a similar legal environment.

You will also bring:

- Robust organisational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of files
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to take ownership of matters and work independently
- A collaborative, team-focused approach
- A proactive, can-do attitude.
