Our client, a government agency, is seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master to drive the successful delivery of complex ICT programs within a secure environment based in Canberra, ACT. This 12-month initial engagement offers an exciting opportunity to facilitate high-performing Agile teams and promote continuous improvement across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement.
- Coach and mentor Agile team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders to deepen Agile adoption and maturity.
- Manage delivery risks, dependencies, and impediments to maintain momentum and ensure successful outcomes.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with technical and business stakeholders to support collaboration and transparency.
- Prepare and present Agile delivery metrics and reports for governance forums and steering committees.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven leadership in Agile delivery within complex ICT projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across organisational levels.
- Experience coaching teams on Agile principles to foster self-organising, cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in risk and dependency management impacting delivery.
- Proficiency with Agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Ability to analyse and apply Agile metrics to enhance team performance.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in Federal Government or ICT project delivery.
- Supporting multiple ICT delivery projects simultaneously.
- Involvement in enterprise-scale Agile transformation initiatives.
- Understanding of governance and reporting in secure environments.
