About the role
- Provide cultural support and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families
- Facilitate communication between healthcare teams and community members
- Deliver cultural awareness education to clinical and administrative staff
- Develop and maintain relationships with local Aboriginal organisations and community groups
- Support discharge planning and care coordination for Aboriginal patients
About you
- Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally sensitive and accountable manner with Aboriginal individuals, families and communities
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with Aboriginal people, non-Aboriginal people, health workers and other organisations
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in advocacy or community liaison roles preferred
