We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live In Carer to for private home of elderly couple. This is a full-time position based in St Albans, VIC 3021 , where you will provide essential support and care to 81 yr old gentleman in need of aged and disability support services. As a Live In Carer, you will play a vital role in providing both practical assistance and emotional support whilst living in their home. The home is exceptionally clean and you are provided room, food and toiletries in addition to salary.

Key responsibilities

- Providing personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting support to gentleman
- Assisting with mobility and transferring clients safely using appropriate manual handling techniques
- Supporting with meal preparation, cooking and feeding as required
- Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic living environment for both yourself and the client
- Administering medication reminders and monitoring health conditions as per care plans
- Assisting with household tasks such as laundry, shopping and light cleaning
- Providing companionship and emotional support to promote social engagement and wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of care provided and any changes in client condition
- Communicating effectively with family members, healthcare professionals and the care coordination team
- Responding promptly to client needs during day and evening hours whilst living in the home




- Identifying and reporting any concerns regarding client health, safety or wellbeing
- Supporting clients' independence and encouraging participation in activities and interests

What we're looking for

- Kindness
- First Aid knowledge and CPR knowledge preferred
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance or willingness to obtain. Police check.
- Demonstrated experience in aged care, disability support or similar caregiving roles
- Robust interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
- Patience, empathy and genuine compassion for vulnerable people
- Physical fitness and ability to assist with mobility and manual handling tasks
- Reliability and commitment to providing consistent, high-quality care
- Problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Knowledge of safe manual handling and infection control practicesFlexibility and adaptability in responding to client needs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy
- Valid Australian driver's licence (preferred)
