We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to lead and support our General & Orthopaedic Surgical Ward. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care and foster a supportive team environment within a leading healthcare organisation. As an ANUM, you will work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the ward. You will play a crucial role in clinical leadership, staff development, and maintaining exceptional standards of patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing team on the General & Orthopaedic Surgical Unit.
- Assisting the Nurse Unit Manager with daily ward operations, resource management, and rostering.
- Participating in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans for medical and cardiac patients.
- Mentoring and supporting nursing staff, including recent graduates and junior team members.
- Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures,
and relevant clinical standards.
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies within the unit.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive patient care and discharge planning.
- Managing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges effectively.
About You: You are a highly motivated Registered Nurse with significant experience in Orthopaedic and General surgical wards, including previous leadership or supervisory experience. You possess excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, enabling you to lead with confidence and compassion. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Extensive current acute clinical experience in surgical nursing.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in a senior nursing role.
- A commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
- The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Solid interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- A minimum of 4 years RN acute surgical experience required.
- Relevant Post Graduate studies desirable but not required.
Remuneration $57.44 - $59.33 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
