weave. Recruitment has been exclusively engaged on a new search within a growing real estate credit team.
About the business.
Our client is a global institutional investment manager with deep roots in real assets. Its capital comes from long term institutional investors. That lets the team keep investing steadily through the cycle.
The real estate credit strategy has clear board support and is growing. The team is small, close and flat. People own their work and have direct access to senior decision makers.
The role.
You will report to the head of the strategy and lead the execution of new real estate credit investments across Australia. The book covers development alongside income producing and stabilising assets. Transactions include senior loans, bank syndications, B notes and mezzanine.
Key responsibilities
- Run transactions from indicative term sheet through credit approval, documentation and financial close
- Build feasibility, cash flow and transaction models, including sensitivity and stress testing
- Complete credit analysis and due diligence across residential, commercial, industrial, retail, build to rent and specialised assets
- Write and present investment proposals to the Investment Committee
- Engage directly with developers, borrowers, banks, brokers, lawyers and valuers
- Hand closed transactions over cleanly to the asset management team
- Help shape how AI tools support a lean deal team
About you.
- 5 to 8 years in credit, debt or real estate finance, ideally with a Tier 1 non bank lender or a bank property finance team
- Hands on execution experience, from structuring through to legal documentation
- Strong modelling skills and sound commercial judgement under deal timeframes
- Familiarity with senior, stretch and mezzanine development finance, income producing assets and land finance
- Comfortable engaging developers directly when a deal calls for it
- Explicit writing and confident presentation to a committee
- Happy to travel nationally
- A degree in finance, commerce, law, property or a related field. CFA progress is viewed favourably
Why this role.
- You will run deals yourself, with genuine ownership
- Stable, long term capital at a time when parts of the market face liquidity pressure.
- Institutional ticket sizes across the capital structure, with high quality counterparties.
- A small team where judgement and character matter as much as technical ability.
- A competitive package.
