AWS Data Architect –

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Architect to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing data architecture solutions on AWS. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, cloud teams, and application teams to develop modern data platforms supporting analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and enterprise data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Design end-to-end data architecture and cloud data solutions on AWS.
- Develop scalable data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures .
- Define data ingestion, integration, transformation, storage, and consumption patterns.
- Design solutions using AWS Glue, S3, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Lake Formation, Kinesis, and Lambda .
- Develop batch and real-time data processing architectures.
- Establish data governance, security, lineage, quality, and metadata management.
- Implement AWS security practices including IAM, encryption, VPC, KMS, and access controls .
- Work with Data Engineers to define ETL/ELT pipelines and data modelling standards.
- Design highly available, fault-tolerant, and cost-optimised AWS data platforms.
- Integrate data from relational databases, APIs, applications, SaaS platforms, and streaming sources.




- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across data engineering and cloud initiatives.
- Create HLD/LLD, architecture diagrams, data models, and technical documentation .
- Support cloud migration and modernisation of legacy data platforms.

Mandatory Skills

- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related technology roles.
- Solid hands-on experience with AWS cloud and data services .
- Strong knowledge of AWS S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lake Formation and EMR .
- Strong experience in data lake / data warehouse / lakehouse architecture .
- Strong SQL and experience with data modelling .
- Experience designing ETL/ELT and data integration pipelines .
- Strong understanding of AWS IAM, security, networking, encryption and governance .
- Experience with Python and/or PySpark .
- Strong understanding of distributed data processing and cloud architecture.
- Experience with data governance, data quality, metadata and lineage.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills

- Experience with AWS Kinesis, Lambda, Step Functions and EventBridge .
- Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation .
- Knowledge of Databricks, Snowflake or Apache Spark .
- Experience with AWS MWAA/Airflow .
- Experience supporting AI/ML and GenAI data platforms .
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Data Engineer .
