About The Role We're seeking an experienced Business Analysis Delivery Practice Lead to champion and grow Swinburne's business analysis function, driving high-quality outcomes across major strategic programs and projects. As a key leader within the Delivery Management Office (DMO), you'll shape the University's business analysis practice, establishing standards, building capability, and embedding best-practice ways of working that deliver measurable value. Combining strong business analysis expertise with people leadership, you'll lead a team of talented business analysts while providing strategic guidance across complex, enterprise-wide initiatives.
In this influential role, you'll oversee the delivery of business requirements across a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring robust approaches to requirements management, traceability, risk management, and solution validation. You'll also take a hands-on leadership role in high-priority initiatives, helping translate business needs into practical, impactful outcomes aligned to Swinburne's strategic goals.
Working closely with project teams, technology partners, business stakeholders, and external vendors, you'll contribute across the entire delivery lifecycle, from business case development and procurement through to testing, change readiness, implementation, and benefits realisation.

You will also need experience across the following key accountabilities:
- Lead, manage and develop a team of business analysts, allocating and prioritising work across concurrent programs and projects and providing day-to-day direction.
- Build and grow the capability of the BA practice through coaching, mentoring, structured development planning and regular constructive feedback.
- Lead Benefit Definition and Quantification: partner with Benefit Owners to define clear, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound (SMART) perks, translating strategic goals into quantifiable financial (e.g. ROI, cost savings) and non-financial (e.g. efficiency, risk reduction) outcomes.
- Lead and continuously mature Swinburne's BA practice, including its operating model, capability framework and career pathways, to lift the standard of business analysis across the University.
- Develop and maintain the business analysis plan and approach for all allocated work.
- Analyse business problems and articulate clear, effective business solutions.
- Elicit, define and manage end-to-end requirements across the chosen project delivery lifecycle.
- Analyse business process workflows and gaps to identify improvement and automation opportunities, applying process mapping, improvement and reengineering techniques to optimise processes and enhance business outcomes.

Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualifications and demonstrated BA experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training.
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g. CBAP, CBATL).
