I'm an established accountant and registered tax agent based in Central Queensland. I look after a broad mix of small business and individual clients, and I'm looking for a local bookkeeper or accountant to join me on a casual, work from home basis.

About the role

- Casual position, 100% work from home
- Choose your own hours, with some flexibility needed around key deadlines
- Up to 20 hours per week, varying with workload and busy periods
- Regular catch-ups in person or online, with plenty of support
- Varied work across companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders

What you'll be doing Full training will be provided, and tasks will build up over time as your confidence grows. Work may include:

- Bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
- Preparing BAS and IAS for review
- Preparing year-end workpapers
- Payroll and STP processing
- General client support and follow-up

About you

- An interest in bookkeeping and accounting




- Comfortable using a computer and learning recent software
- Organised, reliable and comfortable working independently
- Based in the Rockhampton or Central Queensland area, so we can catch up in person from time to time
- A reliable internet connection and a quiet space to work

Desirable (but not essential)

- Experience in an Australian accounting or bookkeeping role
- A relevant qualification (bookkeeping, accounting or similar)
- Familiarity with Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks
