Area Manager - Gold Coast & Northern Rivers

HIA is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead our presence across the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers region. This is an exciting opportunity to represent Australia's peak residential building industry association, working closely with builders, industry stakeholders, government representatives, sponsors and members to ensure HIA remains the trusted voice of the residential building industry.

About the Role

Reporting to the Deputy Regional Executive Director - Queensland, you will be responsible for the overall success of the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers region, including membership growth, member engagement, sponsorship development, stakeholder management and regional operations.

This is a highly visible role that requires a strong commercial focus, exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to influence outcomes across industry and government.

Key Responsibilities

Drive membership recruitment, retention and engagement outcomes

Develop and manage strategic relationships with sponsors, partners and key industry stakeholders

Represent HIA across industry events, committees, forums and public engagements

Build and maintain productive relationships with members, media, government and regulatory bodies

Support commercial growth opportunities across the region

Lead and develop regional staff

Oversee office and operational management activities

Contribute to advocacy initiatives and promote HIA's policy positions

Deliver exceptional member experiences and support local industry needs

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

Demonstrated leadership experience with responsibility for people and commercial outcomes

A track record of building strong business relationships and partnerships





Experience in membership, sales, business development or stakeholder engagement environments

Robust communication, influencing and networking skills

The ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

Experience working across regional and broader organisational structures

Strong Microsoft Office and CRM capabilities

A genuine interest in the residential building and construction industry
