About the role
As Brand Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and take strategic ownership of a portfolio of 4 brands distributed through Sephora ANZ.
This is a commercially focused role for an experienced Brand Manager who understands the Sephora environment and can independently develop and execute brand strategies that drive growth, strengthen brand equity and maximise commercial performance.
You will lead the full brand agenda across your portfolio, from annual strategy and go-to-market planning through to retailer negotiations, launches, marketing activations and performance analysis. You will work closely with Sephora and internal teams to identify opportunities, build compelling commercial plans and ensure strong execution across the retail and digital ecosystem.
The role requires a combination of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, strong retailer relationships and hands-on leadership of cross-functional projects.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Commercial Strategy
- Lead the annual brand strategy and planning process for a portfolio of 4 brands distributed through Sephora ANZ, translating global strategy into market-relevant plans.
- Develop launch, promotional and activation strategies aligned with business objectives and category opportunities.
- Analyse sales, market and customer data to identify growth opportunities, inform investment and shape brand direction.
- Present brand strategies, launch proposals and business reviews to key retail accounts.
Sephora & Key Account Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for Sephora ANZ, building strong commercial relationships and identifying opportunities to grow the portfolio through distribution, visibility and activations.
- Lead negotiations across trade terms, promotional investment, launch timings, exclusivities and visibility opportunities, ensuring alignment between retailer priorities and brand objectives.
- Own forecasting and maintain strong oversight of stock, proactively identifying risks and driving solutions around launches, promotions and peak periods.
- Work with the planner on new launch and baseline forecasts, inventory planning and discontinuations.
- Oversee the timely completion and accuracy of Sephora brand portal requirements, working with the Marketing Coordinator to ensure all relevant information, assets and launch details are correctly submitted.
Launches, Trade Marketing & Campaigns
- Lead go-to-market strategies and execution for new launches, campaigns and activations across retail and digital channels.
- Develop planograms, visual merchandising and visibility initiatives that deliver strong brand presentation and commercial impact.
- Conduct regular market visits and in-store audits to monitor execution, competitor activity and opportunities for improvement.
Reporting & Budget
- Prepare regular brand performance and business reviews, translating sales, market and campaign data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Own the A&P; budget and work with the CEO on sales and marketing budgets, ensuring investment is aligned with brand strategy and commercial objectives.
- Monitor brand performance, proactively identifying risks, opportunities and actions to drive growth.
Public Relations
- Work with the PR team and agency to develop and execute PR strategies, current launch communications, send-outs and events, ensuring alignment with wider brand plans.
Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of proven experience in brand management, ideally within luxury beauty, fragrance, cosmetics or premium FMCG.
- Previous experience managing brands within Sephora is essential, with a strong understanding of its commercial environment, ways of working and retail calendar.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience managing major retail partnerships.
- Proven ability to develop and implement brand strategies and independently manage a brand or portfolio.
- Proven track record in product launches, retail marketing and cross-functional project management.
- Strong negotiation, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical ability and confidence using sales and market data to inform decisions.
- Highly proactive and autonomous, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to drive projects forward with limited supervision.
