About Us
Ability Housing is an NDIS-registered Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) provider based in West Perth. We support people living with complex disabilities to access high-quality, fit-for-purpose housing that promotes independence, choice and sustainable tenancy outcomes. Our work is grounded in the belief that the right home can be life-changing. We work collaboratively with participants, families, support networks, SIL providers, Support Coordinators, property owners and other sector partners to deliver sustainable housing outcomes.
We are a small, agile and purpose-driven organisation. We recruit people for their capability, values and alignment with our collaborative culture, and value people who take ownership, exercise good judgement and see matters through to completion.
About the Role
As Ability Housing continues to grow, we are strengthening our management structure and have created a new Business & Corporate Services Manager position to provide the business coordination, systems and management controls needed to support our operations and future growth.
The Business & Corporate Services Manager is a new key management role, working alongside two Operations Managers and reporting directly to the Managing Director.
This is a broad, hands-on management role responsible for ensuring the organisation is well coordinated, financially visible, compliant and supported by simple, effective business systems.
The role provides oversight across management reporting, revenue and financial controls, business administration, HR coordination, procurement and suppliers, contracts and subscriptions, corporate registers, quality systems, document control and organisation-wide action tracking.
You will work closely with the Managing Director, Operations Managers, finance resources and other team members to ensure agreed actions are followed through, information is accurate and accessible, and business risks, control gaps and emerging issues are identified and addressed.
This is not a traditional office administration role. It requires commercial judgement, strong systems capability, organisational discipline and the confidence to coordinate work across the business and hold people to agreed actions and timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate concise management reporting and organisation-wide action tracking, ensuring agreed actions are allocated, followed through and appropriately escalated.
Oversee revenue assurance and financial administration controls, working with finance, operational staff and specialist providers to ensure income is identified, claimed, reconciled and exceptions investigated.
Maintain oversight of SDA claims governance and the interface between operational staff, finance resources and specialist claims support.
Coordinate trust-accounting and arrears reporting controls and ensure financial information requiring operational action is communicated and followed through.
Coordinate HR administration including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, employment documentation, performance-review cycles, training records and key personnel records.
Maintain oversight of procurement, subscriptions, suppliers and contracts, including approval processes, registers, renewal dates, pricing and expenditure visibility.
Maintain key corporate and compliance registers, policies, procedures and controlled documents, and support effective implementation of Ability Housing's QMS.
Coordinate central business administration and improve systems, workflows and reporting without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
Support audit preparation and corrective-action tracking, and identify gaps in controls, systems, information or accountability.
Provide concise reporting to the Managing Director on business performance, financial and revenue exceptions, organisational risks, outstanding actions and matters requiring decision.
About You
You will be an experienced business manager who enjoys bringing structure, visibility and follow-through to a small and growing organisation without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
Demonstrated experience as a Business & Corporate Services Manager, Corporate Services Manager, Practice Manager, Executive Operations Manager or similar senior business role.
Experience in disability, community housing, health, property, human services or another regulated service environment will be highly regarded.
Strong commercial and financial literacy, with the ability to understand management accounts, revenue, expenditure, arrears and financial exceptions.
Experience establishing and maintaining effective business controls, registers, reporting and administrative systems.
Experience coordinating finance, HR, procurement, suppliers, contracts and broader corporate administration.
Strong systems capability, ideally including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel and business/workflow management systems.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate work across multiple people and functions, monitor agreed actions and drive matters through to completion.
Sound judgement, solid written and verbal communication, and a practical, solutions-focused approach suited to a small, fast-moving organisation.
Highly regarded: Experience with NDIS/SDA, community housing, quality management systems, financial controls, compliance systems or regulated human services.
How to apply To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the role. Applications will be reviewed as received.
