Carpenters & Labourers – Portable Home Installation

Portable Home Builders Australia is expanding our installation team and is seeking experienced Carpenters / Tradespeople and reliable Labourers / Installers for ongoing portable home installation projects.

We work throughout Greater Perth and regional WA, with regular interstate projects. This is a hands-on, project-based role suited to people who enjoy construction work, travel and working as part of a small installation team.

All positions will initially be offered on a casual basis, with the prospect to progress to part-time or full-time employment for suitable long-term team members.

POSITION 1 – CARPENTER / EXPERIENCED TRADESPERSON

$50–$60 per hour casual, depending on qualifications, experience and demonstrated capability.

Duties include

Portable and expandable home installation

General carpentry and building work

Timber framing and structural work

Building decks and verandahs

Roof framing and roof installation

Installation of skirting, flashing and trims

Internal fit-out and modification work

Levelling, positioning and securing portable homes

Reading plans and solving practical construction issues on site

Working independently and as part of an installation team

We are looking for

Qualified Carpenter OR strong demonstrated carpentry/building experience

Strong practical construction skills

Experience with framing, decking and roofing highly regarded

Ability to work independently and solve problems on site

Portable/modular building experience is an advantage but not essential

Electrical,



plumbing or other trade qualifications/licences highly regarded

POSITION 2 – LABOURER / PORTABLE HOME INSTALLER

$40–$45 per hour casual, depending on experience and demonstrated capability.

You do not need to be a qualified carpenter, however previous construction, building or trade experience is highly regarded.

Duties include

Assisting with portable home installations

Assisting carpenters and experienced installers

Using hand and power tools

Assisting with decks, framing and roof structures

Installing skirting, flashing and trims

Loading, unloading and moving building materials

Site preparation and clean-up

General construction duties

- Learning our complete portable home installation system

REQUIREMENTS FOR BOTH POSITIONS

Current White Card

Current Australian driver’s licence

Reliable and punctual

Physically capable of hands-on construction work

Strong work ethic

Willingness to learn

Able to work effectively in a small team

Flexible with working hours

Must be willing and able to travel interstate and to regional areas

Comfortable staying away from home for several days at a time when required

ABOUT THE WORK

This is not a standard job at the same location every day.





Our projects are located throughout Greater Perth and regional WA, with interstate projects including Queensland and Victoria.

Installation teams may travel and stay away from home for several days or approximately one week while completing a project.

Working hours vary depending on project schedules. Longer working days and weekend work may sometimes be required during active projects.

Travel and accommodation arrangements for approved work trips will be discussed with successful applicants.
