Steve's Liquor Launceston is looking for friendly and reliable Retail Assistants to join our team. You'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for every customer who walks through our doors. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys customer service and thrives in a fast-paced retail setting.
You'll be passionate about building rapport, sharing product knowledge, and helping customers discover something current, whether it's a Tamar Valley wine, a local craft beer, or a premium Tasmanian whisky or gin. The position requires some flexibility around working hours and the ability to work weekends when required.
Key responsibilities
- Greeting customers warmly, answering product-related questions, and offering tailored recommendations based on their preferences
- Operating the point-of-sale system efficiently,
handling cash and card payments, and ensuring accurate transactions
- Receiving deliveries, unpacking stock, and replenishing shelves
- Keeping the store clean, organised, and visually appealing
- Ensuring all sales are conducted in accordance with Tasmanian Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements
About you
- A valid Tasmanian-approved RSA certificate
- Previous retail, hospitality or customer service experience (ideal)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
- A team-player attitude that contributes to a friendly working environment
