Are you someone who notices the details, enjoys being out and about, and knows how to turn a cleaning standard into a quality result?

The City of Wanneroo is looking for a Cleaning Inspector to join our Building Maintenance team and help ensure our facilities are consistently clean, protected and well maintained for our community.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll spend your time across a diverse range of City buildings and facilities, working with cleaning contractors, internal teams and facility users to monitor standards, resolve issues and keep services on track.

What you’ll do

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance and quality of our cleaning contracts, including:

- Inspecting City facilities and assessing cleaning standards.
- Identify and report graffiti during routine inspections to enable prompt removal and maintain presentation standards.
- Monitoring contractor performance against contract requirements, KPIs and service levels.
- Identifying defects, non-conformances and service delivery issues and ensuring they are addressed.
- Coordinating corrective actions, including deep cleans and rectification works.
- Following up to make sure completed works meet the required standard.
- Responding to cleaning-related enquiries and complaints and working with contractors to resolve issues.
- Maintaining accurate inspection records, reports and contractor performance information.
- Identifying trends and recurring issues and recommending practical improvements.
- Supporting cleaning contract processes, including contract setup, transition and performance monitoring.
- Contributing to improved inspection processes, checklists, reporting tools and digital solutions.
- Ensuring cleaning services meet relevant safety, legislative, regulatory and contractual requirements.

You will work closely with our Coordinator Building Maintenance, Technical Officers, cleaning contractors,



internal staff and facility users, so strong communication and relationship-building skills are important.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who is practical, organised and confident managing multiple sites and competing priorities.

To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate in your cover letter and resume the following skills and experience:

- Experience in contract management, facilities maintenance, cleaning services or a similar environment.
- Experience managing contractors and monitoring service delivery.
- Experience in inspections, auditing or quality assurance is desirable.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to identify issues, follow them through and find practical solutions.
- A sound understanding of contract management and service standards.
- Good computer and information systems skills, including data entry and reporting.
- An understanding of WHS requirements in cleaning or facilities environments.
- A current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- A White Card and First Aid Certificate would also be desirable.
