The Role

Working across procurement policy, contracting templates and procurement reform, you will contribute to high-profile initiatives that improve procurement capability, reduce complexity and support better decision-making across government.
You may
- Develop and implement contemporary procurement policy and guidance.
- Design, review and improve contracts, templates, tools and resources used by procurement practitioners.
- Manage procurement complaints under the Government Procurement (Judicial Review) Act, supporting a trusted and transparent procurement system.
- Contribute to reform initiatives that simplify processes and reduce red tape.
- Engage with stakeholders across government and industry to develop practical solutions.
- Analyse emerging issues and provide strategic advice that shapes the future of procurement.

About our Team The Procurement Policy, Professionalisation and Practice (PPP) Directorate is at the forefront of shaping and strengthening Defence procurement capability. We develop procurement policy, guidance and Commercial templates and tools that support government objectives, drive best practice and enable officials to confidently deliver procurement outcomes that provide value for money and meet legislative requirements.
You will join a high-performing and collaborative team that works across Defence and industry to improve procurement frameworks, modernise contracting approaches and deliver meaningful reform. Our work is varied,

Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a strategic and motivated professional who is passionate about improving procurement outcomes and delivering practical solutions in a complex setting. You are a strong communicator and relationship builder who can navigate complexity, influence stakeholders and lead meaningful change.
You will bring experience in procurement, contract management, commercial management, procurement policy, governance or a related field, together with a sound understanding of procurement frameworks, contracting processes and/or policy development. You will have demonstrated experience leading complex projects, reforms or strategic initiatives, ideally within government or a large organisation
You are an analytical thinker with sound judgement, capable of translating complex issues into practical solutions and high-quality advice. You thrive in dynamic environments, successfully manage competing priorities and lead teams to deliver results.

Security Clearance
