Your New Role CV Services is seeking a commercially minded Commercial Accountant to support one of our largest operating divisions in Brisbane. This is an prospect for an ambitious finance professional who wants to move beyond traditional accounting and become a trusted advisor to operational and project leaders. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in analysing business performance, supporting project outcomes and delivering insights that influence strategic decision-making.

Working closely with operational leaders, project managers and senior management, you will provide commercial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting that helps drive profitability and business growth.

Key responsibilities include

- Leading budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes
- Monitoring business unit and project financial performance
- Providing commercial analysis and actionable recommendations
- Supporting project managers with profitability, forecasting and cost control
- Delivering management reporting, KPI dashboards and variance analysis
- Identifying risks, opportunities and margin improvement initiatives
- Partnering with operational teams to improve business performance




- Supporting month-end reporting, governance and financial controls
- Assisting with strategic planning and business decision-making

What You'll Need To Succeed To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of strong technical accounting capability and commercial acumen, along with a genuine interest in partnering with the business.

You will have

- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- CA or CPA qualification, or be actively working towards completion
- 3-5 years' experience in accounting, management accounting or commercial finance

- Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experience
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to translate financial data into practical business insights
- A proactive and commercially focused mindset

Highly regarded experience includes
- Construction, engineering, infrastructure, services or project-based industries
- Project accounting
- Power BI or business intelligence reporting tools
- ERP systems
