Role description The Commercial Lawyer role is an on-site position based in our Adelaide Street office in the Brisbane, CBD. The role involves providing legal advice on a range of commercial matters, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and manage client files from initial instructions through to completion. Daily responsibilities include drafting various contracts, identifying and addressing legal issues, advising on regulatory compliance, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver clear, practical solutions for clients.

The role also involves completing legal research for clients,



contributing to firm-wide knowledge management initiatives and supporting the development of automated processes such as AI to improve efficiency. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and two (2) senior lawyers across diverse industries, helping them navigate complex commercial transactions to compliance. There is also the opportunity to work on a variety of litigious matters if required.

Qualifications

- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts for various business types.
- Ability to identify and manage legal issues in commercial transactions and compliance matters.
- Proven track record providing clear, practical legal advice to senior business people.
- Knowledge of data privacy requirements and regulatory frameworks affecting Australian businesses.
- Admission as a lawyer in Australia and eligibility to hold a current practicing certificate.
- Experience in commercial law, corporate law, intellectual property, or technology-related legal matters is highly desirable.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, with high levels of attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively and autonomously in a team-focused environment and manage multiple matters concurrently.
- Interest in legal technology, automation, and knowledge management within a commercial law practice.
- Other non-legal qualifications would be highly regarded.
