About the role

We are seeking a talented Computer Network & Systems Engineer to join our growing engineering team at HS Creations, primarily based at our Rockdale, NSW facility with regular multi-site oversight of our Riverwood operations. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting, hands-on opportunity to own complex cross-site network, virtualization, and systems infrastructure projects. As a Computer Network & Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, deploying, securing, and maintaining the vital network environments and private cloud architectures that keep our high-precision production machinery running.

This position is essential to our mission of delivering zero-downtime operations and represents a significant contribution to the continued technical success of our organization.

What you'll be doing

- Engineering, implementing, and configuring multi-site network systems, VLAN segmentations, and hybrid corporate-industrial infrastructure across multiple environments.

- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical hardware infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, network switches, and centralized QTS-based QNAP TS-473A servers configured in RAID 5 arrays.

- Monitoring network performance and security using advanced diagnostic software and spectrum analyzers to ensure optimal high-bandwidth system uptime, data redundancy, and robust WPA3 data protection.

- Conducting regular system audits, capacity planning,



and log analysis to identify areas for future hardware, storage, and firmware upgrades.

- Managing technical network documentation, detailing server environments, maintaining asset lifecycles, and keeping comprehensive records of system configurations and network topology maps.

- Providing technical support and troubleshooting guidance to resolve system-wide outages, packet loss, spooling errors, and cross-site data synchronization failures in a timely manner.

- Collaborating with production teams and internal stakeholders to understand high-bandwidth CAD/CAM requirements and deploy optimized workstation integrations with CNC, laser, 3D printing, and large-format systems.

- Implementing strict cybersecurity firewalls and encryption protocols to protect proprietary design data and ensure safe remote access across all production and corporate platforms.

- Developing and administering automated backup workflows and robust disaster recovery strategies to safeguard mission-critical company data and maintain 24/7 server availability.

- Deploying Incident Response Protocols to manage ISP or critical hardware failures and executing swift workstation imaging and physical upgrades to maintain ongoing operational efficiency.

What we're looking for

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline, with an Australian qualification being highly advantageous.

- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP routing, DNS, DHCP, secure VLAN isolation, and advanced WPA3 security methodologies.

- Hands-on experience configuring, scaling, and managing storage network devices, private cloud platforms, and enterprise server technology (specifically QNAP systems).

- Proficiency in diagnosing complex data packet transfers, spooling configurations,



and connectivity frameworks between front-end software and end-point manufacturing machinery.

- Experience with network monitoring utilities, performance analysers, and administering automated server backup workflows.

- Solid understanding of IT security principles, enterprise firewall implementations, data encryption, and local system imaging procedures.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with the demonstrated ability to manage critical incident response procedures independently and collaboratively under pressure.

- Strong communication skills with the capability to explain complex infrastructure dependencies to diverse technical and non-technical internal departments.

- Experience managing virtualized server environments and optimizing data pipelines across separate commercial branches.
