About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be primarily responsible for managing the daily accounting for the business across its Aged Care and Retirement Living portfolios, as well as providing support to the broader Finance team. This includes Management, Financial and Asset Accounting, as well as providing analysis and reports to the Finance Manager.
This Corporate
Accountant position will liaise with Department Leads, develop budgets and forecasts and carry out month-end and year-end procedures. Furthermore, this role will contribute to the continual improvement of the business’ financial systems, processes and controls.
Your other key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Analysing accounting records and financial statements to provide advice & insights to managers
- Carrying out month-end and financial year-end reporting and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards, as well as assisting with statutory compliance requirements - including financial statement preparation and liaising with auditors
- Developing corporate and divisional budgets and forecasts
- Producing periodic internal financial accounts and reports for business stakeholders
- Asset accounting activities including recognition, depreciation, reconciliations, reporting and maintenance
- Other duties as required by the Finance Manager or Chief Financial Officer
About you The successful candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in finance or accounting and be either qualified or working towards their CA/CPA accreditation. You will demonstrate prior management and/or financial accounting experience, with the ability to provide commercial insights and recommendations. You will have a robust knowledge of accounting principles, standards and compliance requirements, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience within a medium-large sized organisation, utilising ERP systems is advantageous.
You will have a keen eye for detail and take pride in delivering accurate work. The successful candidate will be highly organised, comfortable working both independently and collaboratively and will excel at developing strong internal stakeholder relationships. Prior experience within the Aged Care industry is preferred, however not essential.
