An exciting prospect exists for a highly motivated and analytical Data Analyst - Clinical Costing & Activity to join the Information Management & Analytics Directorate at Nepean Hospital. This role offers the chance to contribute to meaningful improvements in healthcare delivery by supporting clinical costing, activity-based funding, business intelligence reporting, and data-driven decision-making across Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

What you will bring to the role
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health informatics, health information management, data analytics, accounting, commerce, economics re related discipline, or a combination of skills and experience in a clinical costing environment regarding as being acceptable for the satisfactory performance of the duties of the position.
2. Proficient skills, demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of Activity and Financial Data for clinical costing methodology, standards and principles, while exercising confidentiality, discretion and judgement.
3. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to successfully build and maintain relationships with NSW Health and other internal and external stakeholders and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
4. Demonstrated,



analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to interpret complex healthcare datasets and translate insights into meaningful business outcomes and reporting solutions.
5. Demonstrated experience in major health information systems, e.g. Patient Administration Systems, HIE, EDWARD, together with experience in Power BI, MS SQL Server and MS Office software (particularly Access, Excel and Word). Experience with Python, SSIS or other data integration tools is highly desirable.
6. Demonstrated understanding of casemix principles, classifications and the practical application of both finance and activity data for casemix purposes.
7. Demonstrated experience or ability to extract, format, upload, interpret and manipulate data from large databases for clinical costing, analytics and high-quality reporting.
8. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaborate within a team environment, delivering high-quality analytical, reporting and business intelligence outcomes.
