The Opportunity
Help shape the future of one of Australia’s most recognised and environmentally significant destinations. In this strategic role, you'll lead the delivery of key initiatives within Noosa’s Destination Management Plan, working with industry, community, government and First Nations partners to strengthen destination stewardship and support Noosa’s vision as a regenerative destination.

- $72,642 base annual salary pro-rata for part time
- $82,455 Total Remuneration Package pro-rata for part time, which is based on a part-time employee and inclusive of 12% Employer superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.

About You
You are an experienced destination management professional with a minimum of ten years' experience in destination management, economic development, or tourism or a related field, and you have a demonstrated commitment to sustainable and regenerative outcomes. You bring strong project leadership capability, a collaborative and inclusive approach, and a well-established network of industry influencers, decision-makers and opinion leaders across diverse stakeholder groups. With highly developed strategic thinking, sound political acumen and exceptional communication and relationship management skills, you are motivated to deliver positive and enduring outcomes for our community, local businesses and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the delivery of priority Destination Management Plan initiatives,
including the ‘For the Love of Noosa’ program
- Manage complex destination management projects, partnerships and stakeholder engagement activities
- Provide strategic advice, reporting and recommendations to support informed decision-making and destination outcomes
- Drive regenerative destination initiatives through collaboration, innovation, research and continuous improvement
Skills and Experience
• Extensive experience in destination management, tourism, economic development or a related field
- Strong project and program management experience, including planning, delivery, budgeting and evaluation
- Demonstrated knowledge of regenerative tourism, destination stewardship and behaviour change principles
- Established networks across diverse strategic stakeholder groups and proven ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships across government, industry and community sectors
- High-level facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive reporting and strategic documentation
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex environment
- Understanding of Noosa’s environmental values, destination management priorities and community context
Qualifications
• Degree qualification in Economic Development, Business, Tourism, Public Policy, Environmental Management or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Current Queensland C Class driver licence
