About the Team:
The Regulatory Assurance and Systems team within the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (ECRA) is responsible for the systems, tools, data and insights that underpin ECRA's operations and continuous quality improvement.
The team leads a number of internal review processes and guides ECRA's communications and proactive regulatory activities. It provides data-driven insights and manages organisation-wide governance, reporting, performance monitoring and communications, while driving ongoing improvements to regulatory systems, processes and operational practice.
ECRA operates within a contemporary best practice risk-based framework, Regulating for Quality, and has a strong reputation within Queensland and nationally for fair, transparent and effective regulatory operations. We work closely with other regulatory agencies, and with the early childhood sector, to ensure that Queensland children and families receive secure, high quality services.
Your Opportunity:
It would be highly desirable to have the following skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective, strategic leadership to teams, managing workflows and providing direction and support to staff in a fast-paced regulatory environment;
- Experience in implementing data-informed, risk-driven process improvements and reforms, using contemporary human design principles;
- High level administrative decision-making experience, sound knowledge of administrative law principles and experience supporting staff to interpret and apply complex legislation;
- Experience delivering effective processes and systems for good governance, assurance and performance measurement in an operational context,
preferable within a regulatory environment;
- Ability to work collaboratively towards explicit shared objectives, working closely with stakeholders and identifying opportunities to partner and innovate when problem-solving and translating strategic objectives into actions;
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and authoritative advice to senior leaders including the Minister and Director-General.

About You:
- Commitment to the protection of children through effective risk-based regulation, and a clear focus on outcomes-driven approaches to regulatory practice;
- Strong interest in how to apply contemporary technology and systems to drive efficiencies and maximise the insights that can be derived from data and intelligence holdings;
- Great communication skills and capacity to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders - successful communication strategies are essential to ECRA's ability to achieve regulatory outcomes, reduce regulatory burden and minimise risk to children;
- Ability to bring flexible thinking, enthusiasm and creativity to your work, while at the same time working within clear legislative and policy frameworks and guidelines.
